Rnd 1 One day game against PAOC

Well we won the toss and decided to bowl on a green deck that looked like it had a little in it early . We started well and had them 2/26 and 3/43 and then a few partnerships got going and we had them 9 for 254 at the end of the 40 overs. It was a case of way to many full tosses that got hit for four or six and it seemed to happen later in people’s spell’s so maybe fitness this time of the year , but about 60 to 80 runs came from them.

Ian Bryant was the pick with 3/50 and Aiden Buckley 2 / 36 in his first senior game. With the bat we were all out for 122 with only Cookey putting a fine display of sensible batting with 22 and the only false stroke he played unfortunately got him out. Ian Bryant chimed in with a handy 16 and young Jack Williams also a 16.

Rnd 2 Two Dayer against Old Ignations

We won the toss again and sent them into bowl on a pitch being used by seniors for the first time this season. Ian Bryant was spectacular and showed great control and cut of the ball to take 5/21, young Aiden Buckley took a handy 1/12 of 6 over’s, Aaron Billet in his first senior game took a respectable 1/ 19 from 6 overs, same problem for awhile as last game from a few seniors who bowled full toss trash and it got spanked. Back on the track for a few blokes may help. When we batted we had nearly a hundred overs to get the 107 so no rush.

The opening stand was worth 38 with Macca making a sensible 13, it could have been 20 or so but the old fat skipper couldn’t get back for two many 2’s or 3’s, of to the gym for him. We then went to 2 for 50, 3 for 50, 4 for 52 when I got out for 13. We were all out for 83 with Cookey the only other bloke to get over 10 , he scored 12. Both the seniors and juniors alike not good enough mental attitudes with the bat and have to learn you can’t force the pace in the first few balls you face and must build your innings. We then went back out to bowl and promptly dropped 5 or 6 catches in the first session and when we had drinks they should have been 5 or 6 , wasn’t to be but positives are we found Hasan / Paz bowls very hand leg spinners and Ian Bryant took 2/41 of 13 over’s and the young lads again did well with the ball, Billet 0/8 of five, Bondi bowled real well for 2 /13 of 6 over’s.
